Types Of Online Blackjack Games

There are a large number of blackjack variants on offer at online casinos like Vegas Strip Blackjack, European Blackjack, Double Exposure and so on. This article discusses a simpler classification of online blackjack games, especially for new players.

The basic division is between simulated blackjack games and live dealer blackjack games. Simulated games are based on random number generation. The software has a random number generator (RNG) that generates random numbers, which correspond to the cards in a deck. The player only sees the final result of the cards being dealt. The simplest form of this game is single hand blackjack. At one time you will play only one hand against the dealer. You place your ante bet and the initial cards are dealt as per the random numbers generated. You then make your moves till you stand or bust. The dealer’s cards are then dealt according to online blackjack rules. If you win then you receive the payout and if you lose then you forfeit your wager.

Many online casinos offer multi hand blackjack games based on the RNG. In these games you can play up to five hands against the dealer at the same time. The main advantage of multi hand blackjack is that the games run much faster because the dealer hand is played only once for every five player hands. It also has more resemblance to a real casino situation. After you make your ante bets for the selected positions on the blackjack table you will be dealt the initial cards for those positions and then the dealer’s cards will be dealt. You complete playing each hand in turn. The dealer’s hand is then played. Each of your hands is independently compared with the dealer’s hands and the payouts made.

Some online casinos offer multi player blackjack games based on the RNG. Here different players can play at the same table against the same dealer. You can access a multi player table from the games menu and if there is a vacant position then you can join the game. During a round you play your hand while the other players play their hands. This format is slower because you wait while the others play, but is more realistic.

Live dealer games are not based on the RNG. The games are conducted at actual blackjack tables in a studio setting. Live dealers deal cards from a shuffled shoe. The action is video streamed to your computer. Because the software plays no part in conducting the game and because it happens in a real setting, many players prefer live dealer blackjack.
